From our humble beginning in downtown Montgomery, AL back in 1987 we saw Montgomery for what it could be. Long before the RSA Tower and all the downtown development we knew the potential of our great city. With the surge in safety glasses business from all the new manufacturing jobs here in the Capital City, and Central Alabama, Affordable Eyewear has added new jobs to the community. With all the new suppliers along with the soon to be Number 1 automobile maker in the world, “the sky is the limit for opportunity here in Central Alabama.”

Affordable Eyewear was created by optician Hobson Cox to serve Montgomery and the River Region by providing exactly that: eyewear at affordable prices. In keeping with this standard, Hobson has kept the same prices in place for more than 30 years, despite economic pressures such as inflation, recessions, and near-depressions.
